Ruination // Lost Dog Dance // Théâtre de la Ville, Paris

At the crossroads of dance and theatre, the British company Lost Dog is unlike any other. Their appearances in France are rare, and their style defies categorization. Artistic director Ben Duke masterfully blends tragedy and comedy to deliver a unique experience with each performance.

Ruination is no exception. Created in co-production with the Royal Ballet in London and performed to sold-out audiences, the show blends dance, music, and theater to offer a modern take on the myth of Medea. Ben Duke highlights the paradoxes of this grand tragic tale, restoring humanity to this female figure often portrayed as monstrous. At times funny, at times tragic, occasionally powerful but always deeply moving, Medea rises to tell her side of the story.

A masterpiece of dance-theatre… poignant, raw, funny and at times breathtaking. ” The Guardian
